Delivery Mode

The Certificate II course is delivered over a period of 24 months with training and assessment conducted on the job by an Axial trainer on a regular and agreed schedule.

Alternatively, Australian School-based Apprenticeships are available for students in Year 11 and Year 12 who would like to gain a vocational and technical qualification while completing school studies. Training and assessment requirements are determined in consultation with the student, their school and employer.

Career Pathways

This qualification will enhance your entry-level employment prospects into apprenticeships and traineeships and give you a better idea of the type of trade career you would like to pursue.

The course credits gained in this qualification can be credited towards further training in an apprenticeship. To view hundreds of videos about getting a skill or trade visit SkillsOne.

Assessment Requirements

Assessment will consist of individual or clustered units of competencies, whereby the student will display their theoretical and practical ability to a standard where the trainer can deem them competent.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is ideal for people without any formal qualifications. No matter how, when or where you acquired your skills, you can still receive a full or partial qualification based on your experience gained through various work or life situations.

Government Funding and Incentives

Some applicants may be eligible for funding from the Queensland Government.  For more information contact the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) or visit the Government Funding and Incentives section of this website.
